Super Bowl XLVIII is this Sunday and it promises to be a great game pitting the No.1 offense against the No. 1 defense, an infrequent occurrence in NFL history. Another exciting football season will be put to bed and a new champion will be crowned. But history will be made in the broadcast booth as well!

For the first time ever, the Super Bowl will be televised in Spanish on Fox Deportes.

This means the millions of native Spanish speakers in the United States will get play-by-play in their own language on live television — no subtitles or delays. In fact, more than 100 million viewers are expected. And big-time advertisers like AT&T, H&M, and PepsiCo are creating Spanish-language ads for the occasion.

It’s about time television broadcasters acknowledge that the diverse and growing US Latino market includes millions of NFL fans! So when the time comes, whether watching in English or Spanish, a Broncos fan or Seahawks fan, sit back, grab some cervezas and buffalo wings, and enjoy your Super Bowl Sunday.
