This day is the day that has been designated for us to pause and think about the amazing legacy left by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
And his legacy isn’t confined to the borders of the United States. Dr. King’s vision of a world of tolerance prevails around the globe. There’s the statue created in his honor alongside Mahatma Gandhi in India, his birthday is celebrated every year in Hiroshima, and Irish mega-band U2 penned a classic in his honor.
He has done so much to show the world that peace and understanding can go a long way. His powerful words still resonate today:
“An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.”
Thank you, Dr. King for reminding us that language and communication are what bring us all together.
