2013 has been another great year at Smartling! And like many others, we find January 1 to be a time of reflection and nostalgia. So in honor of the last 365 days, we’re counting down the 10 most exciting Smartling happenings.

10. Pando Monthly with Fred Wilson
Aside from the spiked Kelvin Slushies and dim sum buffet, it was great to hear our CEO, Jack Welde, speak about international trends for startups and his inspiration for starting Smartling. You can read the Q&A here.

9. Jack on Bloomberg TV
Did you catch our television debut last May? It was a great moment for Smartling as Jon Erlichman of Bloomberg TV interviewed Jack about the state of the translation industry and how Smartling is helping businesses expand their global reach.

8. Becoming an Amazon Webstore Solutions Provider
Just last month, we became a trusted solution for Amazon Webstore users who can now integrate with the Smartling platform.

7. Partnership with Tahgreedat
Keeping with our mission to make the world’s digital content truly multilingual, we’re excited to partner with Tahgreedat in an effort to increase access to online information for Arabic-speakers around the globe.

6. Sharing our iOS plurals support library
Before we shared our open-source library, we realized handling linguistic plurals on iOS was a challenge for some of our clients. It was exciting to be able to provide a solution that benefits not only our customers but also objective-C developers everywhere.

5. Becoming the most secure translation tech around
We’ve always been dedicated to security and privacy so receiving our certifications for PCI Level 1 and SOC 2 and Healthcare Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance, was a great accomplishment for us.

4. Adobe CQ plug-ins
We’re proud to announce that the Smartling Platform now seamlessly integrates with Adobe CQ! The result is agile technology that translates digital content faster and more effectively than ever imagined for enterprise companies all over the globe.

3. A successful Series C
It’s hard to shake the excitement of having some great people on our side. Support from Tenaya Capital, Harmony Partners, Venrock, U.S. Venture Partners, IDG Ventures, First Round Capital, Felicis Ventures, Joseph Ansanelli, and Sam Lessin sets us up for an amazing 2014.

2. Making the list of most valuable New York startups
We’re proud of our Silicon Alley roots, so making Business Insider’s 13 Companies That Could Be New York’s Next Billion-Dollar Exit and the Silicon Alley 100 was exciting! Truly, we’re still blushing.

1. All the new Smartlings
We’re only as good as the people who dedicate their efforts to Smartling — and every week seems to bring new members to the team. With each new individual comes incredible talent, expertise, and passion. And all of this accelerated growth, comes with what is sure to be another great year for Smartling!
