Three New Members of the Smartling Executive Team

Bootstrapping served Smartling well until now (as shown by our enterprise client list and also by the announcement the other day of our partnership with CloudFlare). But it can only take us so far.

With all this success and growth—which flows directly from the skill, creativity and dedication of our outstanding team of developers—we’ve definitely been feeling a little under-populated on the customer-facing side. What’s more, as regular readers will know, last month Smartling raised $10 million dollars in additional funding. From now on, we’ll really be stepping on the gas in our mission to make the web truly multilingual – and we’re going to need a world-class team of tech specialists to achieve that, and to service all our new customers.

Which is exactly what we’ve achieved with the addition of Matt DeLoca as Vice President of Sales, Mark Elkin as Vice President of Client Services, and Elizabeth Golluscio as Vice President of Marketing.

New Smartlings Join the Team

Matt (Sales and New Business Development) began more than 20 years ago in field sales at Apple. Since then, he’s contributed to the growth of several digital media startups, including The FeedRoom, Virage and Cinebase. He is a graduate of Bucknell University.

Mark, who’ll oversee Smartling’s customer experience, including Professional Services and Customer Support, has 20 years of experience in established and startup technology companies, such as NetGravity, Symantec, and Vontu. He is a graduate of Brown University.

Elizabeth will lead Smartling’s branding and marketing initiatives. She has experience launching multilingual sites and brings 16 years of startup experience, including Cape Clear (now Workday), IONA (Progress) and OEC (Borland). She’s a graduate of Cornell and MIT Sloan.

Together as a team, we now speak six languages, have lived in eight countries outside the US and, most importantly, have the technology muscle we need to continue our audacious mission.
