NEW YORK – May 6, 2015 – Smartling today announced that it will mark the commencement of its U.K. expansion with a kick-off event in London for local customers and prospects. Attendees will learn about the benefits of localization in a global economy, hear from industry experts on best practices for market penetration and have the opportunity to network with their peers. The event will take place on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at The Soho Hotel in London.

Jeremy Waite, Salesforce Marketing Cloud’s head of digital strategy for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), will serve as the event’s special guest presenter. During a fireside chat titled “Purpose Driven Brands,” Waite will discuss global digital marketing trends and best practices, including why every marketer today needs to be “multilingual” and why it’s essential to deliver high-quality native-language content that provides a customized experience for multicultural customers.

Smartling has experienced rapid growth over the past several years and remains focused on further driving its international expansion in 2015. The company has already established an experienced team of sales and technical leaders in the U.K. to support its growing customer base. Throughout the next phase of its expansion, Smartling will provide local mainland sales support by country, followed by implementation and technical account management support.

“In today’s digital age, companies are inherently global,” said Judd Marcello, vice president of marketing at Smartling. “No matter where your customers are located, to effectively compete globally, you must speak their language through high-quality multilingual content. U.K. organizations have demonstrated a tremendous acceptance for the need to integrate translation and localization into global marketing strategies. Our goal is to provide them with a translation management platform that they can pair with professional human translators to reach new markets faster, more efficiently and more cost-effectively than ever before.”
