NEW YORK – December 18, 2017 – Smartling, a translation technology and service innovator, has been named to the 2017-18 EContent 100 Companies that Matter Most in the Digital Content Industry, having been honored in the category of Content Translation, Localization & Globalization. EContent judges noted the increasing importance of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital asset management, which next year is expected to have its own category.

“It’s extremely rewarding to be recognized by EContent Magazine for our passion, innovation and stature in the digital content industry,” said Juliana Pereira, VP Marketing for Smartling. “More and more global brands, large and small, continue to turn to Smartling for our highly automated, data-driven and cost-effective Translation Management Platform and services. As we revealed last week, one of the key findings of a new IDG study show that 94 percent of marketers surveyed in the U.S. and Europe cited plans to increase spending on content localization in the coming year, a trend that we expect to continue well beyond 2018.”

Smartling was named by EContent magazine as a 2017 product trendsetter for its Mobile Delivery Network translation platform in May and one of the top 100 companies in the digital content industry in 2015-16.

“Congratulations to all the companies named to the 17th Annual EContent 100,” stated EContent Editor Theresa Cramer. “The names on this list are as varied as the digital media industry itself, but one of this year’s standout trends was the importance of artificial intelligence. Companies in every category are finding new and innovative ways to use AI to improve their products and the end-user experience. After seeing what so many of the EContent 100 companies are up to, the judges and I can’t wait to see what 2018 brings.”

In addition to providing AI-based translation software and services, Smartling recently introduced its industry-leading Quality Confidence Score™ (QCS), a proprietary machine-learning algorithm that aggregates data gathered from billions of translated words processed by Smartling’s platform, which leverages data and machine learning to predict and improve translation quality. Smartling offers competitive pricing packages and varied feature options that enable multinational companies in retail, travel, hospitality, entertainment and other industries to quickly and reliably meet their content localization needs.
