What Is Smartling’s Document Portal?

The real work of translation cannot begin until the correct content is identified and delivered to your translators. But at the same time, content owners cannot afford to get tangled up in complex translation processes. As a result, we created a centralized space for colleagues all across an organization to submit and monitor their translation requests — without necessarily needing full access to the account or Smartling platform.

With Smartling’s Document Portal, any user assigned to an Account Owner, Project Manager, or Requester role can upload files into a “Job” and submit the package for translation. The authority to actually approve a Job for translation is still determined by the Account Owner, however, who may or may not elect to share their approval privileges with Project Managers or Requesters. In the end, our Document Portal provides Translation Management Platform users with an easier way to collaborate with teammates and a faster way to create, submit, authorize, monitor, and ultimately download completed translations.
