Smartling Names Kunal Sarda Vice President of Customer Success

Localization veteran and Shark Tank Alumnus to oversee all customer-facing business units to further advance customer engagement and satisfaction.

New York - January 2, 2019 - Smartling, the premier software and translation services company that established the category Cloud Translation, today announced the promotion of Kunal Sarda to Vice President of Customer Success effective immediately. In this role, Sarda will be responsible for ensuring the successful adoption and utilization of Smartling’s enterprise cloud translation solution.

Sarda, who previously served as the company’s Vice President of Language Services, will continue to oversee the company’s growing network of high-performing professional translator community in addition to the customer-facing team at Smartling.

Sarda has led a number of strategic initiatives during his tenure at Smartling, including the development of Smartling’s Quality Confidence Score™, a proprietary machine-learning algorithm that aggregates data gathered from billions of translated words processed by Smartling’s platform. Quality Confidence Score, a milestone for the translation industry, leverages data and machine learning to predict and improve translation quality.

Sarda first joined Smartling on May 19, 2016 when Smartling acquired VerbalizeIt, a company Sarda and his Co-Founder Ryan Frankel created to enable language translation for audio, video, and other multimedia content. Both Sarda and Frankel, who founded VerbalizeIt at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, had three investors from ABC’s hit TV show “Shark Tank.”
